Overall, Irvine Valley College is a pretty good college. The facilities are great for educational development, and the professors are more than willing to help their students succeed in their academic endeavors. However, there is not much of a Campus Life or community. The closest thing to a campus life or Community are the clubs you can join. The Campus security is good; they not only have many Panic buttons placed all around the campus, but they also have a dedicated police station on the campus. However, many individuals go around campus interrupting and bothering students, trying to get them to join different organizations and religious groups. These individuals are not just students but there are also random adults who are not even attending classes at the college.

Professors and faculty will sometimes treat you differently if you are younger than the majority of the class, which is not so fun. They also question your enrollment and try to prevent you from participating unless you prove you have an ID. Missionaries keep bothering you around campus, especially if you look young. Not many students attend them, but the events IVC holds are great fun. The people at the booths are kind and let you ask questions. Open events, like dance master classes, are inclusive and inviting. The Writing Center at IVC is incredibly helpful; professors will help with the overall piece and specific weak areas, and you can go back after editing. The music department has new pianos for music students to practice on, which is definitely an improvement. Professors are often available to help outside of class time. Overall, IVC has a bright and cheery atmosphere that definitely displays their dedication to inclusion.

Irvine Valley College has a beautiful campus in a very nice part of Irvine. I have been an online student mainly, and have had mostly great teachers and experiences at IVC. Overall, the academics here are great! I have learned a lot in my time at IVC so far and am looking forward to all of the transfer opportunities that IVC has as well.
