Egg Guide for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

You can find monster eggs in various Monster Dens scattered around the regions.

When you enter each den, you'll need to locate the Monster nests. You can search for the egg icon on your map to find nests (especially useful if they're bigger Monster Dens). Once you've found the nest, search through them to find eggs.

Tip: You'll eventually find Monsties with the Field Skill "Nest Search." This will mark both Dens and Eggs on your map, and will note Rare Dens if you hover over the icon. Great Jaggi and Rathian, both found in Alcala, have these skills.

Navirou will comment on the smell and weight of each egg you pick up. The heavier and nicer smelling the egg is, the more likely it is to have a Monstie with rare genes inside.

You’ll also be able to tell if the egg is a rare find if it glows and sparkles when you pick it up. Rainbow sparkles are rarer than gold sparkles. Rare Monster Dens, which are gold, give you a better chance of finding rare eggs.

You can only have one egg in your hands at a time, when you're carrying them out of a Monster Den. In some Monster Dens, you’ll have the option to search through the nests a few times so you don’t have to take the first one you find if you're on the hunt for rare Monsties!

If you get attacked while physically carrying an egg, and lose, you won't be able to keep the egg. Once you've escaped the nest and it's in your egg carton, you're safe!

Post Game Dens: After completing the story, you'll be able to find Super Rare Dens. See How to Find Super Rare Dens for more information.

How to Carry Monster Eggs

Thanks to your Egg Carton, you'll be able to hold multiple Monster Eggs at one time. You can view how many eggs and what type of eggs you are currently holding from the Camp Menu.

How to Hatch Eggs

Once you've collected your eggs, you can take these to the Stables to hatch them.

Each time you have an egg, a speech bubble will be displayed above the Stables. The Stables are also where you can manage your Monsties and Monstie Party.
